Great Stroke: Yamada Gets 5 Hits
Vancouver first baseman Tatsuyuki Yamada had a big day at Eastwood Field today against the Mahoning Valley Scrappers. The 31-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-6 and led the Canadians to a 16-2 triumph over Mahoning Valley.

"Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Yamada said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all."

Tatsuyuki Yamada singled in the 2nd, hit a GRAND SLAM off Mario Trujillo in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and flied out in the 9th.

Currently Yamada is batting .377 with 8 home runs and 29 RBIs.
