Rangers Lose to Athletics, 7-3
|
The Oakland Athletics topped the Texas Rangers, 7-3, in American League action at O.co Coliseum. The standout performance belonged to Oakland pitcher and Midlothian, Illinois, native Shelby Rich. Rich went 7.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 1, and struck out 7. His record improves to 2-4. Texas, at 39-21, has lost 4 straight.
In the bottom of the first, Nate Dean hit a 3-run home run. The 15th home run of the season for the Oakland second baseman put the Athletics on top, 3-0.
"You work hard, day in and day out, hoping to give the fans something to cheer about. Today was a good day," Dean told the Oakland Bulletin.
