Williams 5-for-6 Against Eugene
|
It seemed that Milwaukee (NYP) center fielder Mike Williams could do no wrong as the Brewers KO'd the Emeralds, 20-5 today. Williams rapped out 5 hits in 6 at-bats and seemed to know which pitches Emeralds hurlers were throwing.
"I think the Brewers were stealing signs," growled one unhappy Eugene fan after the game.
"I just felt good today. I saw the ball well and just wanted to make good contact and put the ball in play," said the jubilant Williams in the postgame press interview.
Mike Williams hit an RBI double in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 5th, grounded out in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Han-seung Hah in the 8th.
To date this year Williams is batting .397 with 14 home runs.
