Matheson Twirls Dust Devils to Shutout Win
The Milwaukee (NYP) Brewers had no answer today for Tri-City Dust Devils pitcher Karl Matheson. They failed to score a single run against him, losing 5-0. Milwaukee (NYP) managed only 5 hits off Matheson, who had 11 strikeouts.

The extraordinarily popular Matheson got a standing ovation from the hometown crowd as he left the field, the applause continuing until he returned from the dugout to tip his cap to the crowd.

"Dust Devils fans are the best fans, in my opinion," he said. "It's a great feeling to throw a shutout under any circumstances but to do it with the crowd behind you like that is just incredible."

To date this season Matheson has compiled a 2-2 record with a 4.04 ERA in 7 starts.
