Corley Belts 5 Hits
|
All game long, West Virginia's Mike Corley was rattling the walls at Russell Diethrick Park and banging out base hits against the Eugene Emeralds. When the dust finally settled on the diamond, he had a 5-hit day and the Black Bears had a 31-1 victory.
Speaking with reporters after his standout performance, the 21-year-old right fielder said, "Get 5 hits, win a ballgame, it's nice. I could get used to this."
Mike Corley singled in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Jose Urena in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit a two-run triple in the 4th, singled in the 6th and walked in the 8th.
This year Corley has hit at a .276 clip with 69 RBIs, 11 home runs and 55 runs scored.
