Fine Effort by Taylor Not Enough in 15-13 Dodgers Loss
|
Nate Taylor had a good game, but he could not keep the Los Angeles Dodgers from falling, 15-13, to the New York Mets at Dodger Stadium. The Los Angeles shortstop slugged 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 6 in the loss. New York reliever Victor Morin picked up the win, upping his record to 4-0. Chut-sai Teoh shouldered the loss. Xu-gang Zhou earned save number 7 this season.
New York needed the clutch hitting of Kevin Bellman to notch the win. The third baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Mets on top, 15-13. For the game, Bellman had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"Some wins are easy and some are difficult, but either way we come to the ballpark ready to work hard every day," Bellman told the New York Herald.
The victory gives New York a record of 40-26.
