For the home crowd, it was a thrilling walk-off win.

Sakae Kasahara had a good game, but he could not keep the Oakland Athletics from falling, 4-3, to the California Angels at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. The Oakland designated hitter went 2 for 5 with a home run in the loss. California reliever Barney Pederson picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Kyle Ehret was saddled with the loss.

The Angels procured the win, in large part because of designated hitter Mike Harkins. In the bottom of the 11th, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Harkins.

The victory puts California at 24-43.
