Mariners Paste 5-4 Loss on Dodgers
|
Dodger Stadium was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Seattle Mariners and Los Angeles Dodgers.
The Seattle Mariners did just enough to sneak past the Los Angeles Dodgers, 5-4, at Dodger Stadium. Seattle first baseman Floyd-William Goof, in particular, had a standout performance. Lance Crumpton closed the game out for Seattle, earning his 12th save.
Seattle used a well-timed hit by Corey Ottinger to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Mariners ahead, 5-3. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"You can't take yourself too seriously," Goof told the Seattle News. "But at the end of the day, we do play to win ballgames."
Seattle has now won 3 straight, while the Dodgers have lost 3 in a row.
