Nationals Win at New York, 6-2
|
Washington picked up a win at Yankee Stadium, toppling the New York Yankees, 6-2. Pitcher Tim Wybenga was one of the reasons the Nationals triumphed. The winning pitcher was Wybenga, now 9-3. He tossed 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 6. Keith Pratt notched his 7th save in 7 chances.
Washington took a 6-1 lead on Luis Ramos's 8th home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off New York pitcher Dave Barry in the top of the ninth.
"I felt good up there," said Ramos. "I saw the ball well."
