Mariners Stay Hot, Beat Indians, 4-3
|
Jeff Taylor did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Cleveland Indians from losing, 4-3, to the Seattle Mariners at Progressive Field. Taylor went 2 for 3 with a home run. He scored 2 runs. Nate Jackson, who went 5 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 3 runs on 6 hits, while walking 0 and striking out 3. His record now stands at 7-2. With the win, Seattle pushed its record to 46-29.
It could have been a different outcome for Seattle, had it not been for Da Vo, the six-time All-Star . Vo contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the fifth inning to put Seattle up, 4-2.
"I like seeing our guys get a return on what they've put in," said Seattle manager Aaron Schiff.
