Mets Upend Orioles, 9-4
|
The New York Mets grabbed a win, 9-4, over the Baltimore Orioles at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. New York third baseman Kevin Bellman was 2 for 3 with 2 singles, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 3 runs. Picking up the win was Jeff Jank. He went 5 innings, allowing 4 runs on 9 hits. The right--hander struck out 2 and walked 0. Baltimore has now lost 5 straight.
Javy Rosa, the six-time Great Glove Award winner , had a direct impact on the outcome. Rosa contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the sixth inning to put New York up, 5-4.
Bellman told a New York Herald reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
