The Minnesota Twins powered past the Chicago Cubs, 8-5, at Wrigley Field. Danny Miramontes was 4-5 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs, to lead the charge. Jose Lopez, the winner, goes to 4-4. He allowed 5 runs on 13 hits, with 2 walks and 3 strikeouts over 8.2 innings. The Twins raised their record to 32-46.

Minnesota used a clutch hit from Tony Rivera to get the win. The first baseman drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Twins ahead, 5-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a doozy.

"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Minnesota manager Patrick Slack.
