The Atlanta Braves racked up a win at Turner Field, bumping off the Philadelphia Phillies, 4-1. Kevin Ovens-Toots, who started for Atlanta, pitched effectively for his team. Ovens-Toots went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 0, and struck out 8. His record improves to 3-6. T.J. Balko notched his 2nd save in 2 chances.
The Braves got a big hit from second baseman Itsuo Egami. In the bottom of the fifth, Egami pounded a solo home run to left. His 7th home run of the season put the Braves ahead, 2-0.
"Winning never gets dull," said Ovens-Toots.
