Expos Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Marlins, 6-2
The Montreal Expos defeated the Miami Marlins, 6-2, at Marlins Park. Montreal left fielder Pete Barutha had a superb performance. He went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 doubles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Alec Murphy, now 1-0, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on 2 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 0. The last-place Marlins have lost 4 consecutive games.

Barutha had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a first pitch curveball from Kyae-sung Che, he banged a 3-run home run to center, giving the Expos a 5-2 lead. It was the 14th home run of the year for Barutha.

"It's nice to come out on top today," said Barutha.
