White Sox Edge Past Expos, 3-2
|
Chicago picked up a win at Quebecor Stadium, toppling the Montreal Expos, 3-2. Pitcher Xenophon Valvis was one of the reasons the White Sox triumphed. Zach Ault earned his 19th save in 19 chances. The American League Central Division-leading White Sox have a record of 64-30.
Chicago used the timely hitting of Antonio Figueroa to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the White Sox on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"This was a tough loss," said Montreal manager Robb Dixon. "It'll stick in my craw for a while."
