Marlins Earn 7-6 Win Versus Braves
|
The Miami Marlins beat the Atlanta Braves by a score of 7-6. Miami right fielder Eric Bailey deserved the lion's share of the credit. Bailey went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Marlins. Miami reliever Travis Small was the winner. His record is now 3-2. The losing pitcher was Victor Munoz. The win has Miami at 28-62.
Kyle Beaulieu was the walk-off hero for Miami. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Marlins second baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"The team always comes first, so pulling out the win on a day like today is the most important thing," Beaulieu told a reporter while responding to autograph requests. "Our fans like to come out to see a win, so I'm happy to do what I can to give them that."
