Royals Deal Orioles 6-3 Loss
|
Kansas City beat Baltimore on the strength of starter Brandon Ferrari's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 6-3. Ferrari, now 8-5, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 7, walking 4, and allowing 3 runs. Bryan Boykin earned his 8th save in 13 chances.
Kansas City used the clutch hitting of Manny Estrada to capture the win. The first baseman drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Royals ahead, 6-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
In postgame comments to the Kansas City Bulletin, Ferrari said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
The win elevated the Royals to 56-44.
