Sugiura Tags Braves for 5 Hits
Masumitsu Sugiura put on a hitting clinic today as the Miami Beach Marlins dumped the Americus Braves 9-2 at The Big Americus Stadium.

The Miami Beach third baseman made Americus defenders earn their pay, lashing Americus pitching for 5 hits in 6 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."

"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Sugiura said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."

Masumitsu Sugiura grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and doubled in the 9th.

So far this year Sugiura is batting .311 with 18 home runs.
