The Houston Astros topped the Detroit Tigers, 4-1, in American League action at Minute Maid Park. The standout performance belonged to Houston pitcher and Little Rock, Arkansas, native Brian Thomas. Thomas got the win, improving to 8-3. He allowed 5 hits and walked 0 over 7.1 innings. Thomas allowed 1 run. The win has Houston at 38-65.
Zack Berney dealt the Tigers a blow in the bottom of the fourth. Batting with a runner on 2nd and Houston leading 1-0, Berney hit a full count cutter for a run-scoring double.
