Tigers Deal Astros 6-4 Loss
|
The Detroit Tigers picked up a win at Minute Maid Park, knocking off the Houston Astros, 6-4. On the mound for Detroit was right-hander Kevin Hockenbury, who played a pivotal role in the win. Riso Profanter came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. His record now stands at 4-1. Detroit raised its record to 59-45 with the win.
Detroit used the clutch hitting of Victor Quinones to snag the win. The center fielder drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the 11th inning to put the Tigers ahead, 6-4. It was his lone hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.
"Big win," said Hockenbury.
