St. Louis Gets 5-2 Win
|
The St. Louis Cardinals took Los Angeles pitcher Ray Scifo's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Dodger Stadium. The final score had St. Louis getting past the Dodgers, 5-2. Scifo went 5.2 innings and allowed 3 runs, striking out 11. The victory makes St. Louis 37-72.
Luke Robbins contributed to the St. Louis win with a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth. For the game, the second baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
"It's not about individual awards," Robbins told a St. Louis Bulletin reporter after the game. "It's about winning championships. That's what we play for."
