Nationals Win at Atlanta, 5-2
|
Washington picked up a win at Turner Field, bumping off the Atlanta Braves, 5-2. Pitcher Tim Wybenga was a major reason the Nationals emerged victorious. The winning pitcher was Wybenga, now 14-5. He tossed 7 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 5. Brian Ramirez, credited with the save, is now 3 for 3 in save opportunities.
Washington used the bat of John Sanders to capture the win. The second baseman jacked a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Nationals ahead, 3-1. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a dandy.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Wybenga.
The Nationals have an impressive 75-36 record.
