The Milwaukee Brewers beat the Pittsburgh Pirates, 4-1. Milwaukee pitcher and Miami, Florida, native Antonio Diaz led the way. Diaz got the win, improving to 6-13. He allowed 2 hits and walked 5 over 6.2 innings. Diaz allowed 1 run. John York notched his 17th save in 18 chances.
Jason Woods took Chris Lincecum II deep in the top of the third. His 3-run home run put the Brewers on top, 4-1. In all, Woods had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 5.
"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Woods.
The victory puts Milwaukee at 49-72.
