Nationals Deal Red Sox 7-6 Defeat
|
The Washington Nationals defeated the Boston Red Sox, 7-6. Doing his part was right fielder C.J. Beavers, who was 3-5 with 3 singles, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. Brian Ramirez, now 7-2, picked up the win in relief. He allowed 2 runs on 4 hits in 1.1 innings. Washington raised its record to 92-41 with the win.
Beavers had a clutch at-bat in the top of the seventh for the Nationals. Coming up with the bases loaded and Washington trailing 4-3, he hit a 2-run single.
"We take it day by day here," said Beavers, "and today was a good one for us."
