Tigers Prevail, 5-3, Over Boston

Detroit and Boston duked it out and the Tigers came out victorious.
The Detroit Tigers stopped the Boston Red Sox, 5-3, at Comerica Park. The Tigers got a big game from Victor Quinones, who went 3 for 4 with 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Detroit reliever Joe Bradford got the win, raising his record to 7-4. Ragnar Danielsson was tagged with the loss. Riso Profanter converted his 32nd save in 35 tries.
The Tigers got a big at-bat from left fielder Morgan Black. For the game, Black was 1 for 2 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 19th home run of the season gave Detroit a 2-1 lead.
"Winning never gets dull," said Quinones.
The win elevated the Tigers to 75-63.
