Montreal Hot Streak Continues with 8-5 Win
|
With second baseman Hugo Bautista leading the charge, the Montreal Expos defeated the Baltimore Orioles, 8-5, at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. Bautista, who is tied for 7th in the AL in triples with 10, went 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Brian White got the win, improving to 15-6. He worked 6 innings, giving up 5 runs on 4 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 3. Alec Murphy converted his 2nd save in 2 tries.
Montreal used the timely hitting of Steve Anderson to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Expos ahead, 7-5. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"We're playing like gangbusters right now," said Anderson.
Montreal has run its win streak to 8 in a row.
