Blue Jays Get One-Run Win at California
|
The Toronto Blue Jays picked up a win at Angel Stadium of Anaheim, taking down the California Angels, 4-3. Starting pitcher Stacy Hootentootin was a big reason why. Hootentootin, now 14-5, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 7, walking 1, and allowing 3 runs. Toronto now has a record of 88-51 with the win.
Toronto relied on the hitting of Mike Blair to pick up the win. The catcher clubbed a solo home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Blue Jays on top, 4-1. For the game, Blair had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said California manager Dakota Wise. "The effort was great."
