Indians Score Late, Top Twins, 4-1
|
Cleveland Indians starter Art Nobles pitched his team past the Minnesota Twins, 4-1. Nobles went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 9 hits, walked 2, and struck out 2. His record improves to 6-11. Hector Guerrero was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 10 of 13 save opportunities.
It could have been a different outcome for Cleveland, had it not been for Shigem Kubo, the 11-year veteran . Kubo contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the eighth inning to put Cleveland up, 3-1.
Kubo told a Cleveland Daily News reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
The Indians raised their record to 44-95.
