San Francisco Pins 5-3 Loss on Cardinals
|
Busch Stadium was the site of a competitive game between the St. Louis Cardinals and San Francisco Giants.
San Francisco left fielder Willis Robles contributed to his team's 5-3 win over the St. Louis Cardinals. Robles, who is a two-time All-Star, went 3 for 4 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Giants. Tim Rymut snagged the win in relief. In 2 innings, the right-hander allowed 1 run on 5 hits. He's now 2-0 on the season. Andrew Kindig got the save, his 30th in 33 chances.
It could have been a different outcome for San Francisco, had it not been for Jack Henningar, the 15-time All-Star . Henningar contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the third inning to put San Francisco up, 2-1.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Robles said after the game.
The win elevated the Giants to 73-69.
