Rockies Nip Reds, 3-2
|
Cincinnati got a terrific performance from pitcher Bryce Schimmoeller, but it wasn't enough to beat the Colorado Rockies. Colorado won the Great American Ball Park contest, 3-2. Schimmoeller threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. The Rockies sport a record of 58-87.
Colorado used the clutch hitting of Chris Blue to capture the win. The third baseman drilled a solo home run in the top of the 11th inning to put the Rockies ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Blue told the Colorado Observer.
