Reds Take Down Dodgers, 4-3
|
The Cincinnati Reds picked up a win at Great American Ball Park, knocking off the Los Angeles Dodgers, 4-3. Starting pitcher Curt Stevens was a big reason why. Cincinnati reliever Sam Alexander picked up the win, upping his record to 1-3. Justin Scheithauer absorbed the loss. With the win, Cincinnati raised its record to 80-67.
Cincinnati won the game in the bottom of the tenth inning. With no outs and Justin Scheithauer on the mound for Los Angeles, third baseman Saulo Maina hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Reds fans to their feet.
"This kind of game is tough on the heart," said winning manager Jimmy Silveira II.
