Blue Jays Rally to Eke Out Win
|
The Toronto Blue Jays and Kansas City Royals put on quite a show.
Toronto Blue Jays starter Timo Lantinga turned in a workmanlike performance against the Kansas City Royals at Kauffman Stadium. Junpei Yamazaki got the save, his 8th in 11 chances.
Toronto used the timely hitting of Jason May to capture the win. The first baseman socked a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Blue Jays ahead, 6-5. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"This is truly a great team to play with," Lantinga said after the game. "We're like brothers, and when we come together to pull out the win, that just makes it all the better."
Toronto now has a record of 91-55 with the win.
