Athletics Sneak By Yankees, 6-5
|
The New York Yankees got a superb performance from designated hitter Jordan de Jesus, but the Oakland Athletics still won the game, 6-5. de Jesus was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Oakland reliever Kyle Ehret was the winner. His record is now 3-3. David Ibarra took the loss. The Athletics sport a record of 60-100.
Oakland used the clutch hitting of Luis Restrepo to capture the win. The first baseman drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to give the Athletics the lead, 6-5. For the game, Restrepo had 1 single and 1 double in 5 at-bats.
"Our team showed some gumption," said Restrepo. "I like it."
