Phillies Take Shellacking, Lose 15-2
|
The New York Mets buried the Philadelphia Phillies, 15-2, under a barrage of hits. Sean Cook led the onslaught, going 3-for-4 for New York. The winning pitcher was Chris Painter. He's now 1-0. He went 5.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits for the Mets. The victory makes New York 2-2.
New York took the lead in the bottom of the fifth when Cook hit a 2-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season made the score 2-0, New York.
"We'll try to build on that win," Cook told the New York Herald.
