Braves Shut Out Reds, 2-0
|
Atlanta and Cincinnati duked it out and the Braves came out victorious.
Curt Stevens pitched well, but his team, the Cincinnati Reds, still dropped a 2-0 decision to the Atlanta Braves at Turner Field. Justin Judson, the winning pitcher, is now 1-2. He went 7.2 innings, allowing no runs on 1 hit, while fanning 1 and walking 6. Victor Munoz earned the save for Atlanta, his 2nd of the year.
Jordan Martin contributed to the Atlanta win with a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the designated hitter had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 RBI.
Martin told a Atlanta Herald reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
The defeat makes Cincinnati 6-5.
