Blue Jays Score Late, Top White Sox, 4-3
|
The Toronto Blue Jays picked up a win at U.S. Cellular Field, knocking off the Chicago White Sox, 4-3. Starting pitcher Matt Altieri was a big reason why. Altieri got the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 8 hits and walked 1 over 8 innings. Altieri allowed 3 runs. The save was credited to Junpei Yamazaki, his 1st.
Jason May, the 31-year old first baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. May contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the ninth inning to put Toronto up, 4-3.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said May.
The loss has the White Sox at 12-2.
