|
The Washington Nationals topped the Pittsburgh Pirates, 9-6, with right fielder C.J. Beavers playing a big role. Beavers was 2-4 with a double and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2 for the Nationals in the win. Chris Baran collected his 4th save. The win has Washington at 8-5.
Beavers came through for Washington with a 2-run single in the bottom of the second. He hit a 1-1 fastball to left field, staking his team to a 2-0 lead.
Beavers told a Washington Daily reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
