Red-Hot Figueroa Scorches Indians
|
5 hits in 5 at-bats. It doesn't happen every day, and when it does, it's exciting. Today Antonio Figueroa of the Chicago White Sox had a sensational game against Cleveland at U.S. Cellular Field. He rifled base hits all over the ballpark in his team's 11-0 shellacking of the Indians.
In the postgame press conference, he joked that he was going to take the rest of the week off.
"I did all my hitting in one day -- what else do they want from me?" he said with a laugh.
Antonio Figueroa singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Ben Cole in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th and hit an RBI double in the 8th.
Looking at his present stats, Figueroa has compiled a .390 batting average in 21 games with a .453 on-base percentage, while hitting 5 home runs and driving in 16 runs.
