Twins Win Thriller, 3-2
|
Milwaukee got a terrific performance from pitcher Antonio Diaz, but it wasn't enough to beat the Minnesota Twins. Minnesota won the Target Field contest, 3-2. Diaz threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. Minnesota pitcher Jose Lopez got the win. He's now 1-0. Jose Avila was tagged with the loss. Minnesota is still hoping to get on a roll. The win is just their 8th in 24 games.
The Twins relied on designated hitter Danny Miramontes for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the 16th, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring single to seal the deal.
"Our team showed some resilience," said Miramontes.
