Cooper Homers Twice in 12-4 White Sox Win
|
The rain came, as predicted, but the Chicago White Sox and New York Yankees were able to complete their ballgame.
The Chicago White Sox stopped the New York Yankees, 12-4, at Yankee Stadium. The White Sox got a big game from Chris Cooper, who went 3-4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 6. Jerry JimAnez, 5-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed 1 run on 4 hits in 2 innings.
In the top of the eighth, Cooper put his team in front with his 3rd home run of the season. The grand slam home run, which came against Francisco Rivas, made it 8-4, Chicago.
"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Chicago skipper Larry Stefanski.
The win has Chicago at 24-4.
