Pelicans End Ramirez's Streak Sunday, January 1st , 2045 It was a doubly miserable day today for Alberto Ramirez of the Clearwater Threshers, as he saw his 22-game hitting streak end and his team lose 6-3 to the Myrtle Beach Pelicans at Bright House Field. The 21-year-old right fielder was held hitless in 3 at-bats by the Pelicans. "Anyone on a 22-game hitting streak is going to be a tough out," Myrtle Beach manager Jake Bauers said later. "But we had a plan and we were careful about it, and got it done." Currently Ramirez has no home runs and a .359 batting average. |
