Garcia Tags 3 HR Against Nationals
Tuesday, January 3rd , 2045
It was a good day for the Dunedin Blue Jays and an exceptional one for Jose Garcia. The 27-year-old first baseman sent three bombs out of the park to help the Blue Jays beat the Potomac Nationals 13-5 at G. Richard Pfitzner Stadium.
"When you're in the zone, the game really slows down," Garcia said when asked about his performance later. "I couldn't even tell you what pitches were thrown. Today feels great, but it is a long season and tomorrow is another day."
For the day, he scored 3 times, drove in 7 runs and smacked 3 hits in 3 at-bats.
Jose Garcia hit a two-run home run off Harry Osborne in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Manny Arguelles in the 2nd, walked in the 4th, walked in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Kerry Baty in the 8th.
In his stats this season, Garcia has posted a batting average of .338 with 27 hits in 80 at-bats, 9 home runs and 20 RBIs. He has also scored 21 runs, walked 5 times and compiled a .379 OBP.
