Barry Batters Lakewood for 5 Hits
Monday, June 26th , 2045
Adam Barry was at the head of a Binghamton Mets hit parade today at First Energy Park. The 25-year-old went to the plate 5 times and came away with 5 hits, but it was the Lakewood BlueClaws that marched off with the 9-5 win.
"We didn't have it today," griped Mets skipper Eric Krebs following the game. "Adam did fine, but as a team, we didn't do it with the bats and we didn't do it pitching."
Barry did more than fine, dominating the BlueClaws at the plate during his record-making 5-for-5 performance.
"Each time I went to the plate, I was thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere," the sweet-swinging first baseman told reporters. "When I focus on that, I usually have quality at-bats."
Adam Barry singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Danny Zuniga in the 7th and doubled in the 9th.
Barry is currently hitting at a .270 pace with 2 home runs, 6 RBIs and has scored 9 times.
