Friday, August 11th , 2045
It was high-fives all around for Bill McGregor at Fifth Third Bank Ballpark today.
He got them from his teammates and he got them at the plate during an outstanding hitting performance against the Kane County Cougars. McGregor smashed 5 hits in 6 at-bats on his monster day, leading his club to a 4-3 win.
"Bill was hitting everything," said Yard Goats manager Joe Hill. "It really was a special game for him."
In the opposing dugout, Cougars manager Donnie Tucci told BNN beat writers that McGregor "ambushed" the club.
"Obviously we didn't have much success against him, but we'll have another chance," the skipper said. "Hopefully, McGregor oversleeps next time."
Bill McGregor singled in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th, singled in the 9th, grounded out in the 11th and hit an RBI double in the 13th.
McGregor is batting .361 this season in 101 games with 9 home runs, 62 RBIs and 89 runs scored. He has 137 hits in 380 at-bats.
