Brown Smacks 4 Homers Against Lexington
Friday, August 18th , 2045
Fans at Community Field won't soon forget the raw display of power put on by Burlington Bees center fielder Butch Brown today. Brown smashed 4 home runs in Burlington's 38-0 victory over the Lexington Legends.
"To be honest with you, I have never even thought about hitting this many home runs in a game," Brown said to reporters after the game. "Only legends hit this many home runs in a game and I ain't no legend."
In his history-making performance, Brown victimized Lexington hurlers for 6 hits in 8 at-bats with 4 runs scored and 15 RBIs.
"What he did was unbelievable," said Lexington manager Tyler Sturdevant. "My guys gave it their best, but he hit some fine pitches. He was like -- he was in automatic home run mode today. He just had that great swing. It didn't matter what we threw him. It was gone."
Butch Brown grounded out in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit a GRAND SLAM off Ron Bubar in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Ron Bubar in the 3rd, walked in the 3rd, hit a GRAND SLAM off Ron Bubar in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Ron Bubar in the 5th, flied out in the 7th and hit a two-run double in the 8th.
This year Brown has 4 home runs and a .259 batting average.
