George and Goodale Suspended, Out 5 Games Monday, August 21st , 2045 There were a few hotheads at the Lakewood-Hartford game at First Energy Park yesterday, but the cooler heads prevailed and kept fisticuffs to a minimum. It all started when Josh George of the BlueClaws and Joe Goodale of the Yard Goats apparently exchanged some verbal unpleasantries and rushed at one another and began wrestling on the ground. Both benches emptied, but didn't get involved other than a little shoving. Order was quickly restored, the two instigators were ejected by the umpires and the game continued. The league office took quick action and today announced that both players would be suspended 5 games for inappropriate on-field behavior. For the year George has hit at a .285 clip with 65 RBIs, 22 home runs and 79 runs scored. This season Goodale has made 54 relief appearances with 2 saves. In 79.1 innings he has fanned 111 hitters and recorded 4 wins and 5 losses with a 3.63 ERA. |
