Gassinger Sizzles -- Smokes Captains for 5 Hits Monday, August 28th , 2045 It was a sensational day at the plate for Pauli Gassinger as he led the charge to a 20-2 win over the Captains. The Lansing left fielder was pure misery for the Lake County pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked with 5 hits in 5 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting. "Gassinger put the ball into play and he really hit it hard," said Billy Dilley, manager for the Captains, after the game. "When you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball." Pauli Gassinger hit a solo-shot off Jeff Degel in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Mario del Rio in the 7th, hit an RBI single in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 8th. Gassinger is currently batting .297 with 6 home runs and 28 RBIs. |
