Boylan 5-for-6 for Snappers
Wednesday, August 30th , 2045
It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-6 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Dan Boylan, it came around today.
The 31-year-old center fielder scattered hits all over Harry C. Pohlman Field to pace the Beloit Snappers to a 28-0 victory over the Lexington Legends.
Lexington skipper Tyler Sturdevant told reporters in the press room that "Boylan deserves a hat-tip."
"He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Boylan hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit."
Dan Boylan singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Ron Bubar in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, walked in the 5th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 7th.
This year Boylan is batting .406 with 13 hits and 1 home run. He has scored 11 times and has batted in 5 runs.
