6-Hit Barrage by Santos Thursday, September 7th , 2045 It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Victor Santos today -- a 6-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Whitaker Bank Ballpark and paced the Kernels to a 34-0 win over the Lexington Legends. After his dynamite batting performance, the Cedar Rapids first baseman told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 6 hits in 8 tries and put his name in the record book. Victor Santos hit a three-run home run off Brian Carlson in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Ron Bubar in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Ron Bubar in the 8th and singled in the 9th. This year Santos has hit at a .187 clip with 20 RBIs, 6 home runs and 14 runs scored. |
