Brito Whacks 3 out of the Park for Delmarva
Wednesday, September 13th , 2045
Delmarva Shorebirds third baseman Jorge Brito had a magnificent game against the Lexington Legends today, rocketing three balls out of Whitaker Bank Ballpark to help the Shorebirds take the 34-1 victory.
"I got some good pitches to hit and I creamed them," he said after the game. "The first was a big, fat fastball and the last two were hanging curves. All three were mistakes."
For the game, Brito went 4-for-5 with 8 RBIs and 5 runs scored.
"There's a fine line between hitting home runs and line drives," Delmarva manager Andy Flaherty said later. "Seems like Jorge found his home run stroke today."
Jorge Brito hit a three-run home run off Bryan Alfaro in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, walked in the 3rd, walked in a run in the 3rd, doubled in the 4th, walked in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Ron Bubar in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off Ron Bubar in the 8th.
So far this year Brito has hit .215 with 32 home runs, 77 RBIs and 52 runs scored.
